Highway Pegs on Canyon Cages
« on: November 05, 2012, 06:51:46 AM »
I finally got around to installing some pegs to give a foot position option on long trips. Tested them yesterday, they work pretty well and by using one or the other, or both feet up, gives some ways to stretch out. I mounted them high enough so there would be no ground clearance issues.

Got any specifics on them?
Do they come in black?

They are "Bikemaster" brand- generics that my dealer had on the wall, cost 30 bucks for the whole set, clamps included (which I didn't use). I already had the black Rivco clamps, I picked them up from a swap meet, still in the original package for 20 bucks. I don't know if they come in black or not. I'm tempted to rattle can them flat black.

I tried mounting them in a couple places, where they are now are a little high, but I know I won't have any ground clearance problems, and they aren't something I'll use for hours at a time, just to change up for a few minutes at a time. I'll have to see how they work on a longer trip, I can always move them somewhere else and test it again.

The scenery would of been much better without all the smoke this year. You are right though, the Tetons make for great scenery.
