So I just moved from New Jersey to California. Loving every minute, but my particular neighbourhood had very poor coverage with T-Mobile. Oddly enough, there is a rather large cellphone tower not 3 blocks from my building.
So I ping their social media people on Twitter, and ask: "Why is it that I get better coverage underground in SF than I do on the roof of my building in Oakland?" It was really starting to drive me nuts, with all the dropped calls and whatnot. They opened a ticket and I got a call this afternoon asking for some more information. Come to find out, I'm not the first #newoakland resident to complain. So now they're looking at adding a signal repeater in my neighbourhood.
All it took was being polite and courteous. Some folks should try that from time to time. Does wonders.
