speedo cable
« on: September 18, 2011, 01:53:33 PM »
Is the speedo cable routed from the hub, through the retainer on the rear of the fender and then through the brake line retainer before going into the fairing/fork brace?
The cable seems to be pulled hard and at a weird angle when bars are turned full right.

Can't believe nobody has replied  :-\

The cable goes through the plastic ring on the rear of the fender, which has often fallen loose, then up through the chromed oval wire loop on the lower triple tree.

Many dealers, and some maintenance techs, route the cable through the brake hose loop on the upper fork too. This is wrong, and causes undue bending and stress on the speedo cable.

Thanks a lot Rick, I'll get the cable in the correct position.
