Yeah but compared to a Vespa, I'd say beamer got it right =)

Nope......because if I were to get a scooter, it would be or designed from a Vespa. I must the say the Burgmans are pretty bad ass scooters, of course they are dependable unlike I am sure this BMW will not be.

So what's 11,000 euros in real money?

Yeah, 60 HP is MOVIN' it for a scoot 8)
-
Steve, you could almost buy that s1000rr you've always wanted. At at less $/hp. :)
-
At some point, shouldn't these folks just buy a motorcycle? I just don't get it.
-
I just read the specs on it and it will do 108 MPH and 0-60 in 7.5 seconds!! It also weighs 575 pounds! :o That's one heavy beeeyach for a scooter. ???

Neither do I.

LOL, 60HP is about what a full dresser Harley has at the crank!

Scooters typically have automatic trans and you don't have to straddle the seat to ride. You get in and out of a scooter rather than on and off. The wind protection is better because the rider sits behind the front cowl with legs together (no knees in the wind). My buddies wife is much more comfortable on a scooter; she has issues with her hips and cannot straddle a seat without pain.

I'd take the scooter with those 2 options, and I absolutely hate scooters... ;)

Hmm. Didn't realize there was a US scooter market......................

I dunno. I think Vespa has had it right for the past 60 years or so.

Word and ditto.......but I can see why it is ideal for some.
-

Actually the specs say it is an aluminum frame. :o
-
Y'all would be surprised at how many folks are requesting scooters for the MSF BRC, so much so we have been keeping 2 scooters at each training range. BMW has been watching it would appear.
-
Parking brake integrated with the sidestand clever? No, it is copying Moto Guzzi from the 70s.
Why is 650cc big when talking scooters? Why does it take a scooter to get out of the city? The thing weighs 600#. That ain't light. More marketing for the idiot masses.
-
Why?
Why?
Why?
Scooters have a place - they are a low cost, economical way to travel city streets. The Honda Elite is an economical, super reliable machine that gets 100+ mpg and you can park it pretty much anywhere. I ride one myself when I'm in Southeast Asia.
Anything bigger better have full size wheels and pegs on it. Oh, I guess that would make it a motorcycle, huh. Go figure.
-
Speaking of scooters.... ATGATT. ;)

I am sure she doesn't pole dance or do tricks on occasion? At least her scooter always has saline safety bags.
-
Do you notice the bandage on her left knee?
-

She has knees? :o
At least she has the right shoes on...

. . . and this thing will not be economical to purchase or to maintain.
Anything bigger better have full size wheels and pegs on it. Oh, I guess that would make it a motorcycle, huh.
Exactly.

It had been years since the wife had her own bike and she decided she wanted to get back in the saddle. I had gotten her a nice used BMW 650. She just never felt confident on it and I think a lot of it had to do with using the clutch. We took a trip to Paris and she became interested in the scooters that were so prevelent there. When we came home, she started looking in to scooters. It just so happened that a local dealer had a used Yamaha Majesty 400 and she fell in love with it. So I sold the BMW and bought the Majesty. We've had it for 4 years now and she still loves it! I have to admit that it gives me an ear to ear grin when I ride it on occaision too. I keep telling her that I'm going to get a ticket on that thing before my C-14! From a stop, it just pulls forever with no shifting. I've had it over 85 and it was still stable at speed. The storage space on these things is amazing! A maxi scooter is viable fun economical transportation good enough to tour on. Don't believe the guys with manhood issues. I'm 6'2 and 235 lbs. and I have no such issues, I like our scooter.

Yes sir, I enjoy a bigger CC scooter ride occasionally too, they are a blast to whip around. The handling reminds me of a super-motard, if i had one of these scoots I'd take it to the track too :D

Most of the time I wonder why. But remember scooters have two wheels. And anything with two wheels is GOOD. ;)
