Custom "C-10" Seat on Ebay.
« on: February 12, 2012, 07:56:44 AM »
Anyone seen/used these seats before?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CUSTOM-SEAT-DOUBLE-BUCKET-Kawasaki-ZG-1000-Concours-/190638070792?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c62ea1c08

I didn't see anywhere on the site where he wants your measurements.  Is that a big problem?  $250.00 (aprox)..........a good deal?
Does this mean we get a "Re-Do" on life too?

Doug,

This listing looks more like it would be around $350 plus your OEM seat...I don't know...I guess it's still cheaper than the top-of-the-line touring seat brands out there...now ya got me wondering...hmmm...I do have a stock seat that I'm not using...hmmm?

It's a $300.00 seat with $100.00 refundable "Core" charge ($200.00).  Add his $25.00 for shipping and about the same to ship him a core ($50.00, total cost $250.00?).  Am I thinking this out correctly?

Well, I guess I was reading it as $300 for the seat (wasn't counting the core charge since I have a spare seat I could send him right away)...$25 for shipping back to me...and, say, $25 to ship my stock seat to him...I like your reasoning better!  It really isn't clear whether the $300 includes the core charge...or not  :-\

If your math is correct...I think I'm in!

If he's legit and the quality is good, he's going to have lots of business. Just bought a Corbin (which I DO like) but I'd  have ridden up there (about  3 hours for me, too) to check him out if I had not. Let us know what  you find!

Doug, I have hung around my bud Rocky long enough to spot a cheap seat. And that is one. Notice how loose the cover fits. Also material used in  motorycycle seats differs form that in other upholstery. I would look at that seat in person before i buy. Just my 2 cents. Just dont want to see you get taken. If you are looking at getting your seat done call me.

Will post what his response is...

Got a couple of responses back from him today...

Pay him $300...send him your seat...pay him $25 for return shipping...your custom seat will show up pretty soon...

or

Pay him $300 plus $100 core charge plus $25 for shipping...he will ship you a custom seat...you send him your good core seat...he will refund your $100 core charge.

Seems pretty straightforward...but, yeah, I also wondered about how that cover was fitting in the picture...

Hmmm...?

If anyone decides to get one hope they can post some pics.  I have been looking at this seat myself.  Like the shape of it.

A used Russel seat can usually be had for 350-450... And you can not go wrong with a Russel day long....  And you can guarantee a re-sale for about the same $ when your done with it....  But take a look it is your butt... Later all

I think you can go wrong buying a used Russell unless your body dimensions and weight are pretty similar to the person for whom the seat was made.
