Title: Garage Door Opener.
Post by: Tele130 on June 24, 2012, 08:50:43 AM
This could be done for ALL makes and models.

I purchased a water proof Momentary On switch from Eastern Beaver:

(Second one down) and had it attached to a small garage door opener.  I encased it in plastic.........a FoodSaver machine/bags.  Coolest thing in the kitchen. ;D  I then fastened it (Garage door opener) to the head light access panel and mounted the switch on the dash.  Works like a CHAMP!!!!!

Great.  I'm looking forward to reading it!!!!!!  (The email from the post above....just trying to keep things on track ;D)  If the "Learn" button on your opener is Red, Green or Yellow it will work.  And now that you've got the hang of doing that you do realize that you just might have to do it again.............................right? :rotflmao: :chugbeer:

Is your Smart Phone opening the garage door eveytime you hit the "Send" button? :o...lmao!!!!!

An alternative to soldering the circuitry is to tape or rig the control button so that it is always on and then wire the switch between one of the batteries wires.

I thought of that also.  The problem is that going your route you have to actually/physically isolate the battery from the circuit. Just wiring in 'series' will not work.

I just cut one wire and run it through the switch, eazy beans. Is that what you said? ;D

Not so easy with the remote tele sent. It runs on a watch battery. The positive term is sorta like a halo w three solder joints. The neg has three also.

Wish I hadn't mounted it already, I'd opened it up and taken a picture of the masterful workmanship ;D
