Title: My sick mind
Post by: Steve in Sunny Fla on July 06, 2011, 04:37:49 PM
Wife wanted a larger camper. I needed to park it behind my new shop in order to keep it out of the sun. No way to get it there with a car / truck, not wide enough between my 2 buildings. I bought a totally ragged out kawasaki 220 ATV, cut it up, made up the hitch, put small tires on it, and made a trailermover out of it. Works great. Total cost, just under 400.00. Steve

Not made to be ridden - hard to tell, but the handlebars are turned around and it's designed to walk in front of it. Therefore reverse becomes forward, which is cool because I can steer the camper slowly into it's new parking spot. Steve

KiPASS aside, not to shabby, I'd give ya a a+, but you'll have to settle for a B+.  I like it a bunch, may make one for me, do you think it will push a 24 ft trailer, solid suspension of course and a wheel under the hitch point.

Chet - the trailer you see parked is a 23' trailer. it did it easily. I was relieved! Steve

That thing would never work up here in the SNOW belt, It would be a frozen little chunk of metal for 4 to 5 months a yr.
But it is kinda cute, even if it is neked.
Ride safe all.

Steve, it looks like a great idea, you're a frikkin' lunatic genius! Can you let me know how you get the ball to engage the receiver? Do you lift the front of the buggy and lever it under and up, or do you have the up/down capability with the trailer?

edit: Nevermind, I see the same rotary lift on the trailer as I have on my boat trailer....

Ahhh, this thing is a riot to use - today I used it to move my pop-up into my shop. I only has about 2" clearance / side getting through the doorway, but I walked it right in. Then I jumped on it and ride around the yard abit feeling like tarzan beating his chest  :o Steve
