In case you are looking into a radiator guard for your Connie I have some feedback about the one I just installed last night. I purchased one from PCA out of Ohio and the service was great and Duane answered all of the questions that I had. That being said, on a scale of 1 -5 I will give it a 3! The guard is easy enough to install and uses "squared" "U" hooks at the top (as apposed to using zip ties at the top that some use) to hang onto the radiator and then hooks to the bottom radiator mount via the stock bolt. The screen is a bit flimsy and the screen itself is not tacked to wide rim all the way around but just in a few places. The guard will do the job but I think for just shy of $100 it could be of better quality. Additionally if you buy this guard you will have to bend it to get it to fit correctly. If I was doing it over I would really consider looking at "RadGuard" out of Australia. Their product definitely looks like it is well engineered.

While I understand the value, I'm just wondering whether anyone's actually had their radiator holed by a stone or whatever?

Had a few fins flattened together last season from the stones from all the construction on highways I'd been on.

yep, i had a pinhole in mine, know how and when it happened.
was able to pull the radiator, have it cleaned and repaired, pressure tested and reinstalled in a few hours for like $100, don't recall the price.

You know, I think having a fender extender on the front helps just as much as the radiator guard...

Agree about the fender extender.
Have one sitting on top of the fridge drying. Put a couple coats of undercoating on the inside and six coats of clear. Now I have to find some sparkle black cause my OCD has kicked in and well!!!

I always take a little solice in the fact that we have a long time for maintenance and upgrades here in Canada during the winter. (At least that's what I keep telling myself while my bike sits in the heated garage while I have to read about everyone else riding! lol) :grouphug:

i had my exhaust holed by a stone.
new exhaust header and radiator guard and fenda extenda installed soon after that

Stoned report! Just removed it and took it in for repair this weekend. Gonna look into a guard now. Darn it.
