190/55/17 PR3 from Murph?

Anyone bought one from Murph?  I think I will try the PR3's for my next set and would like to send some more business Murph's way, since he is very competitive on price, but I don't want the 190/50. 


Murph, can you get these in? Or do you only deal with the stock sizes?

Ditto... I will be running PR3 next, in 190/55 rear.  If Murph sells them, I'm paying whatever his price is.  He's earned.  And his price is always competitive, if not the cheapest.  He's earned my business, regardless of price.

Increases the head tube angle since the 190/55 is taller than the 180/55, and thus your steering is  a wee bit quicker, turn in may be a little quicker...  Seems to me guys that are very geometry and track savvy have tested this mod on the C14, and it is a no-brainer.

Additionally, it reduces the speedometer error and has a very slight increase in ride height at the same suspension settings.  The downside of increased unsprung weight and rotating mass seems to be more that offset by the positive effects.

You don't need a taller rear tire to quicken the turn-in -- just lower the forks in the triple clamps by about a 1/4 inch and it does the same thing and doesn't affect your speedometer accuracy.

Why give up clearance when you can gain clearance?  And since the taller tire brings the actual speed closer to the indicated speed, it seems like a win win to me.

The C14 has more than enough ground clearance unless you plan on going off- road.  Clearance isn't the issue -- it's turn-in.

Speaking for me, 214 pounds nekid, figure another 15-20 pounds of riding gear, 30-50 pounds of whatever and an unkown weight for the pillion.  SWMBO has 6 cubic inches left of storage space and has decided that she needs to stop at wally world, she just cant let that space go to waste.  Sitting there silently is a bump, just waiting to rip off the shroud surrounding the oil plug.  See my point?  I also do the track twice a year, no, she aint a track bike, but she is what I have.  I push the limits of the chasis and motor, mine as well.  I reserve the really fast stuff for the track BTW.  Based on these two scenarios I find additional clearance nice piece of mind.  I havent tried the '55s yet, but my next set will be the Angels with that profile.  If I dont like em, I'll go back to the '50s, Angels of course   And it isn't easy to argue against having a more accurate speedo.  Trust me, GPS lag sucks.

I doubt he's offer them as being "FOR" the C14 since that's not  the stock size.  Remember the country is run by lawyers.  Just head over to motorcycle superstore and order them.  They seem to be the current low price leader and have been for some time.  $35.00 less than murphs on the rear.

I always order through Jake Wilson, and Murph is only $4 more for a set of PR3's compared to JW.  I would like to throw the business Murph's way if at all possible since he is competitive on his prices (if you buy a set).  And there are several other bikes that Murph caters to, so I don't think the C14 "legal" matter is what is keeping Murph from selling them.  I think he just needs to see how many members here love the 190/55 so he has a reason to order some from his supplier.

Exactly.  I will probably try a set of Angels next spring to see what all the hype is about.  Michelin has made 4 sets of great tires so far, that I have used.
