Has anyone used this in their bike? Would you use this in your bike?
-
I wouldn't as the first number is the cold viscosity and our engines are designed for 10W40.
0W40 is going to be thinner at all temperatures and may not lubricate correctly.

I do not think you can use this in our motorcycles. I do not see anything saying 'Friction Modifiers' but then again I do not see the correct API spec (JASO) The above's Mobil 1 API Rating: SJ,SN,CF,SM,SL
Requirements for ZG1000 Concours: API SE, SF, or SG; or API SH or SJ with JASO MA
Requirement for ZG1400 Concours: SAE 10W-40 engine oil with API SG, SH, SJ, SL or SM with JASO MA, MA1 or MA2 rating
So , bottom line.. I do see SJ so it MIGHT work... but why chance if it doesn't? I always look for the JASO-MA rating. If I do not see it ... then I do not put it in my Concours (plural)

I wouldn't use it in a motorcycle. I'd use Mobil 1 10w-40 4T.

I did use it and have gone thousands of miles with no problems. The bike doesn't mind one bit.
Noticed less clatter at cold starts. I could not tell or feel any difference in engine operation or performance.
I'll let you know if it blows up before the next oil change. :)

Aren't these oils more expensive than the cheaper 10W-40 that are designed for the motorcycle?

Six months ago, I paid $23 for the 5-quart container.
