Radar detector won't stay plugged in. Loose fit accessory 12v socket.

Steve Poff:
I've tried using my Escort 8500 plugged into the accessory socket on the dash but the plug won't stay in place for more than a minute or two.  I've anchored the cord close to the socket but that didn't help.  Has anyone else encountered this problem and, if so, how did you solve it?

Put a small piece of the fuzzy velcro on the plug, if you need more add another small piece on the other side.

Or plug the thing in and shove a wooden tooth pick in there to hold it.
