Title: Belly pan bolts
Post by: Texanrider on June 30, 2011, 07:48:04 PM
Does anyone one know the exact size of each of the belly pan bolts? The PO did not have the belly pan but I managed to find one and I need the bolts. Thanks!

Same diameter/pitch as the rest of the fairing screws. But the two in front that capture the coolant overflow bottle are 10-15mm long. Much longer and they'll poke a hole in the bottle.

If you haven't done so, get the Murphs screw kit. Save the OEM's for spares.

Dude, go to http://Ronayers.com (http://Ronayers.com) and use their online fiche.

The exaxt size is listed in the parts breakdown.  They are not all the same size.  the 2 for the cooland tank are critical as the above poster said.  But, there is also 2 more that are critical length and I don't think they're the same as the others either.

-----------Added-------------

I looked it up.  The ones for the coolant tank bracket are 6X10 and the ones for the rear bracket are 6X18mm don't use the 22mm for these, they'll make contact with the heat shields on the rear pipes.  I think 6X18mm are used for the 4 fwd nutplates and the 6X22mm are used for the rear nutplates at the lower attach point of the dorky cooling fin.

I just went to the hardware store, took along another bolt and matched it up with the correct nut. Bought SS bolts that fit the nut.
