Folding back rest question
« on: June 25, 2011, 09:14:30 AM »
I have what looks to be a Corbin seat with a square hole in the back...I am unfamiliar with this setup. Any ifo on this would be great.  Where to get and what to get is my question.

that sounds like the rumble seat.  It should also have a hole on the left side for a knob and rod which helps to secure/release the folding backrest.  That style of seat is pretty old.  Not sure where you might get parts.  I had one and was unable to get parts even from Corbin.  Bear in mind that if you do much two up riding, that folding mechanism reduces the passenger seat by 4 inches which gets uncomfortable really fast.  Good luck with it

ps  nice job on the fairing

A square hole sounds more like the Canyon Dual Sport. That's where the armature for the backrest fits. The Rumble Seat had a hinge.

+1. My wife loves our Rumble (her Rumble?) but then she's "petite". If my son is on the back at 6 feet tall and 180lb, my man bits are pressed way up the gas tank  ::)

I haven't rode anyone yet... I just like the look when its folded down. My whole seat is custom starting with the pan underneath, I'm 90 % sure it's an old Corbin. First I'll look around for a used one. But if I have no luck, then I'll have to make the back part. Thank s all!
