Not that I'm interested in them anymore but some may have been thinking about attending this event...

Sounds like the AMA screwed the pooch on this one. Delivering a contract to the track in June for a race in August is asinine! That's something that should be done at least a year in advance in order to make the full race schedule.

IIRC doesn't NA$CAR actually run(?) AMA racing?

Close, actually it's Daytona Motorsports Group (DMG).  Bll France (NA$CAR) owns a large part of DMG.

That splains it.
I$C/NA$CAR probably wanted a boatload of $ or didn't want to pay VIR wat it was worth t hold the event.

Old news. This happened at least a week ago, maybe more.

Looks like VIR filed a lawsuit 7/5 but nothing was made public until the 15th.
