Slipping clutch
« on: June 25, 2015, 03:21:52 AM »
2008 GTR1400, 30,000 miles.
My GTR clutch started playing up a few weeks ago, slipping occasionally. Stripped it checked springs, measured plates etc, all within spec except for a few burn marks on a couple of the steel plates. rebuilt and re-bled (and that was a pig of a job) and test rode-slipping badly when gunning her.
See no option but try new clutch plates. I'm not heavy on clutches,my ZRX has done 62000 and still running fine on original. Any suggestions would be appreciated but dont think Ive missed anything. Steve

hi Steve, and seeing your number of posts, I'll assume you're fairly new here so: welcome!
To your description of the issue I would add the oil you're using, since this bike has wet clutch. Also, how long have you had this charge of oil. I'm not expert in the matter, but I'm sure those who are will appreciate that bit of info.
