Are you talking about the bearing mod? If so buy some 8mm bearings off ebay for about $10, thats what I did.

As I remember it's a 8x1.25x40 bolt? What sort of head does it have? Where'd you get it? Can you post a picture?

I actually used 5 to fill in the gaps, but you only really need 2 and a spacer...

Any idea when?

I plan to buy a few things at the same time from Murphs and am waiting for the shifter mod to order.

Ok, I'll show my ignorance as a C14 newbie and ask why this is beneficial and what benefit does it offer?  Bear in mind I haven't had my shifter apart or looked at it, just trying to understand the purpose of this mod.

The stock setup is a plastic sleeve that is susceptible to wear and additional play (looseness).  With the sealed bearings, you get a tighter shifter which is more precise, less friction for easier shifting and more consistency.  I know it sounds like a lot of fluff, but it really made a difference in mine and I did it with only 3k on the bike....

Doesn't sound like fluff, it actually makes sense.  So I take it these bearings are a direct fit or at most the shifter hole needs reamed out to accept the bearings?

It'll accept the bearings without any reaming
