What Race Series Do You Care About?
« on: June 13, 2011, 06:35:08 PM »
So are you into watching OTHER people go fast? Either by following the series on the tube or attending events?

Extra points if you race yourself!

You can vote for up to 10 types of racing, but if you're really following that many of them, when do you have time to ride?

The best racing IMO is stock cars on circle dirt tracks. I do not race but my son does, his car is a dirt super late model, big HP and very quick. Drag racing comes in # 2 for me, I have some friends who have drag cars and I get to the strip quite often.

Any form of racing is interesting to me.

I watch motogp, thats about it. I used to keep up with ama until maladin and spees left(and it changed hands). Several years in a row I attended the Barber and Road Atlanta races but I dont even keep up with the results anymore.

Drag Racing for me. Mostly because I don't have cable or Satellite  and there is a track 15 miles from my house.

And by "track" I mean an airport runway that they let the drag racers use. Occasionally we have to stop the drags for a while to let a plane land or take off.

World Superbike is, IMO the best series out there right now.

Amazing talent, close racing, and incredible machinery.

Moto2 is also a great series.  The spec engines create really close racing, and the fields are jam-packed.
Turn 1 is usually really hairy!

I have a t-shirt that says "NASCAR is boring" with a picture of a MotoGP rider leaned over in a corner.  Nuff said.

Nothing anymore.  Followed open wheel before Tony George destroyed it and Nascar until it went to Darryl and Larry McStupid.  Went to F1 until McClaren got a $100 million fine.   It's all about the drama now.  Not so much racing anymore.

As I always say, it's not about the racing, but it's all about the $how.

Couple not on the list.

Australian V8 Supercars series. These guys live up to Nascars wimpy rule of “Let the boys have at it.”

V8 Supercars Australia!!! Ford - Watch this!!

Any of the European road rally events, Got to love when they wipe out and roll that sucker back on four wheels and soldier on.

Ride safe, Keep sharp.

I watch the Indy 500 every year. Other than that, I prefer anything that turns left on dirt, with my favorite being sprint cars. 8)
