where do u get your music on a smart phone
« on: January 11, 2012, 03:04:56 PM »
with the price of XM radio going up all the time and the commercials they play that I do not care for. I am trying out IHeartradio and Pandora on my cell to see if it is worth paying a little more for data on my smart phone and shut off XM
gotta have some tunes while on a ride and XM is getting too high. mp3's are the same all the time so time to look into other ways for tunes

I do use both I Heart for talk radio from other cities. Also if you are a droid..MP3 Music Download v.2 is way cool-legal/free  music right to your phone ;) ;)

By the way if your are not "grandfathered into big reds unlimited data...darn your luck-I think Sprint has unlimited @ $70.00 and with a droid you can tether other devices for free on any droid!!!

I use Pandora when I have a data signal, but the good roads around here rarely have any cell coverage much less 3G.

Slacker radio.

3 bucks a month and I have unlimited skip and no commercials.

You can also cashe stations so you can listen to songs off-line.

Music rotation is another issue with all music services... free or paid.  With that being the case I decided that loading up the smart phone (or mp3 player) with 1900+ songs offers a lot of shuffled music without paying for sat radio or data plan.

I use Pandora and have since they launched. Not that it matters, but I can almost see their office from my office window.

I almost forgot Pandora is Bay Area.  But yeah, it totally rocks and I rarely have a problem getting 3G service.

I think it's $3.50, but I get 20% off. It's unlimited skip with no commercials.

I rocks because I plug into my headphone jack on my work radio, and bluetooth to my truck and bike systems while rolling.

I rarely use it on the bike, but have on long hauls. ;)
