Sounds like a trap... Are you a LEO JXTR?  :-\

They got an app for that?

Ok, I'll bite.

Quick rip today, doing 135 in 5th still accelerating, ran out of road  :( .... Figured I had made enough noise heading out of town, so I took'r back to the garage.  ;D

not a LEO...just curious. (I am not brave enough to find the top speed)
I have a 2010, hit 140 in 5th
OK I took out the where...no point in letting LEO know where to hang out

147 GPS at Pacific Raceways.  I know it was faster but the GPS lag let me down.  Ran out of track long before I ran out of motor.
I NEVER exceed the posted speed limit on public roadways 8)

'08, 150, 4th gear, on a hill appropriately named "horsepower hill". Sans bags it's easier to get to that speed. Don't do it often, and never for any length of time.

09 125mph in 6th... early AM on a deserted 2 lane farm road in far east CO up to I-70... trying to make up time from moving a Tag on the way to Moonshine.

I ran out of balls at 130 a couple of times. It still had plenty of gitty up at that speed but I was also concerned about breaking the windshield mechanism with my CB Ultra Tour on it. I put it all the way down and tucked in behind it but if it breaks with an OEM at high speed, it must be really vulnerable with a barn door on it. I had Ghul disable the 155 limiter on my ECM but I don't ever expect to use it.

Er... I mean I heard about someone doing this, it wasn't me ;)

BTW: That was 130 on the speedo so probably less than 125 in reality.

Day of my step-daughter's wedding shower two years ago.  I got to play while they did.  Bags on and 26" CB windshield pushing a lot of air around me.

137 GPS

Black '09 bags on, CB Eurotour

Lots of rpm left on the table.  Didn't see the need to push further since I was alone.  ;)

1987, speedo indicated 140 so probably 130.  This was back around 1991 on remote paved road.  Had all the gear on, good tires, tire pressure checked, shocks pumped up, damper on 4, and drove back and forth on road 3-4 times scouting for potential hazards before making a few runs.  No bags, stock shield I believe (or maybe my Targa) and I don't recall if I had the mirrors folded in.  Only time I've ever run it up that high.

145 in 5th on a remote back road with soybean fields all around, so no critter surprises, no driveways or cross roads. I backed off with throttle to spare because the road surface wasn't real nice and the front end was getting squirrely. I've done 120-130 a lot, winding out 3rd gear into 4th. Again, on remote back roads. Never on a highway or where there is traffic around.

On I95 in NC last Tuesday, I'm humming along around 85 and this sport bike buzzes me out of nowhere. He had to be doing 150. Gone in a flash. If I had decided to change lanes, even with a head check and signal, it would have been ugly. I wouldn't have seen him because he came up so fast. It was moderate traffic and he was zipping around everyone. Stupid.

Just heading down on a Friday night on US 501 to Myrtle Beach to visit mom.  This road is loaded with radar so I just eased up and eased back down.  Wasn't the fastest ever, but it's real.  1987 Concours, no special mods, 6th gear.

Some what related to the OP question, but when people find out that I do track days...their first question is how fast have you gone??

While I may have 100+ something on the track, I enjoy the corners far more by a mile. In fact I'd be happy with no straight at all.

But bracking into a corner, hanging off the C14 getting max grip, max speed through it and then acceleration on the exit is my ultimate high.

As for high speed on the road..no comment.

While chasing a buddy that was on a BMW S1000RR (said chasing, not catching), I did hit the rev limiter in 5th gear while tucked behind the stock shield of my 2011 Black, with a 50 profile rear tire. That was before I had GPS, so can't document exact speed. I seem to recall the speedo in the 160-162 range, but wasn't really watching that closely. The road ahead seemed like it needed my attention moreso than the speedo. Based on later calculations after I got the GPS, I'd say I was in the 153-155 range. This was on a fairly long, straight, rural state highway in North Central Texas. (Plus, he was well ahead of me, although still in sight, running a radar detector.)

Never been over 135 since.   8)

I've been 2-up faster than i thought this bike would go.

And those not using GPS, FYI extreme speedometer error at "brisk" speeds. But the numbers sound real cool for bragging about straight line squidding the bike  (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/bigthumb.gif) (http://s80.photobucket.com/user/stevewfl/media/bigthumb.gif.html)

160mph Bags on...no ECO...Did not turn off traction control.

Had more in her but got some wobble and shut down to a comfortable 110mph.

I believe this proves Steve's point about speedo error.  8)

I did a GPS 146 with the 55 profile rear tire, stock windshield down, and no side bags. I'm sure I could have got a little more out of my 2011, but shifted to sixth gear too soon. No more acceleration after that.  :o

Let's see, what's the top speed for a C10? That's how fast I've had it (long, flat, straight road in Florida, holding the throttle at WFO).

The C14? Only hit around 100 or so in short bursts. I live in the California mountains now, and there aren't as many long flat roads that aren't busy or heavily patrolled. What's the top speed on a C14 anyway?

Ha ha, reminds me of top speed runs on my old VFR 750. Crank the throttle wide open, then look about 1/8th mile down the road, 'cause you're gonna be there real quick!  ;D

I really don't know how fast my bike will go as it only has three speeds:  1st, 2nd and "dearly beloved, we are gathered here to say goodby to  ____________" (fill in the name of rider).  etc.

2000 C10...128mph slight uphill...GPS...about an hour ago.
Mile long straight hill, came out of the corner going 60mph
in third, and let it fly.  Coulda gone faster, but I don't wind it
up too far.  5th gear, 9000rpm or so.

Bought a 2008 from a forum member that i am going to pick up next week.

NOTNOTNOTNOTNOT going to find the top speed on the street.

269 km/h (167 mph) on the GPS, 5th gear, bags on, stock bike ('08) except the Givi windscreen, which does brake her a little. It was in the new 3 lanes section of the A8 from Munich to Stuttgart. Bike has 50000 miles on it, almost broken in.

While chasing a buddy that was on a BMW S1000RR (said chasing, not catching), I did hit the rev limiter in 5th gear while tucked behind the stock shield of my 2011 Black, with a 50 profile rear tire. The C14 will do 17.5 mph every 1000 rpm in 5th gear. I'm not sure at what rpms this engine cuts in the >'10 models, but mine cuts at (indicated) 10500 rpm. If you use real (98%) tire radius and gear ratios, that means that in 5th, in '08 and '09 models, she'd have to be doing 183 mph, which she simply can't.
So, if your bike cut at 155 mph in 5th, she was doing about 9000 rpm and the limiter was implanted :-X
German magazines keep quoting 246 km/h (154 mph) as top speed from >'10 on.

130-135 indicated in 5th on an undisclosed road course in mexico on a sunday after church while making donations to the childrens fund and saluting the highway patrol. On that same course I have hit 120 numerous times but every time I do it feel like a total moron. I pass one "Turn Marshall" at 120+ I'm going straight to the director of confined rooms and spaces.

144 by speedo, it's been checked against gps at 100 and was accurate, sooo... Had bags, top box, 24.5" cBailey shield winter fairing extenders on. it was still accelerating and stable, but that was enough for me. BTW, it's an 04. Steve

Funny you mention this, I get this a lot as well when they learn I do track days in my car. Fastest I have ever gone at a trackday in my car was around 115-120, which is rocking when you're approaching turn one after the straight. However out in the wild I have allegedly reached more than 145. What people don't realize is tracks aren't always about top speed.

On the 2009 C-14, I reached somewhere around 120 in 4th or 5th quite a few times.

I have seen 167 in 5th gear on the GPS (w/o bags) for a long stretch near Hemet, Ca.- stock '09 but equipped with the fastest color of course. I thought the Gen II windshield might snap at the mounts. The ram air intakes make a strange groaning/howling noise at around 150 and the CS-1 is making music. Lots of wind noise too. In 6th, the bike wants to go back to sleep again.
