Title: Pacific NW trip ?
Post by: Bryn on September 07, 2013, 12:51:53 PM
Hi folks, just signed up for a trip next September, organised by an experienced guy over here in the UK....

Here's the itinerary

"Depart Santa Rosa CA on Monday 6th September 2014.
Follow the Pacific Coast Highway all the way up through Oregon and then cut inland to north of Seattle.
Into British Columbia and through Kamloops to Banff National Park.
Down into the stunning Waterton National Park before crossing back into the USA and Glacier National Park
South through Montana to Yellowstone National Park
Across to Cody Wyoming via the Beartooth Pass
Back into the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole which is just south of Yellowstone
Across through Idaho and the Sawtooth Mountain range and teh John Day fossil beds
Down to the stunning Crater lake and Lassen Volcanic Park and back to Santa Rosa on Friday 26th September 2014."

Now the usual plan he has is to ship out your bike, meet it in SF , do the ride and then it gets shipped back....that sounds fine, but I would be interested to know if bike hire from SF instead of shipping my own C14 would be cheaper.

Also would there be an issue with a rental bike entering Canada along the way?

Not sure about the bike issues but pack some warm clothes it was 48 at times today getting to Whitefish today. You could have snow over the beartooth that time of year.

Thanks for that...... 8)

Meanwhile I priced up a rental Gold Wing  :o  $3000 for 3 weeks  ::)  Think it would cost the same as shipping the GTR over  :)
