Have a few goodies on the way.
« on: May 22, 2013, 07:17:37 PM »
I cannot wait to touch myself with these awesome gloves, and I have been wanting a good bluetooth headset for far too long. A good buddy of mine that I ride with allot has both of these, he could not recommend them enough. Thoughts, experiences, comments?  :feedback:

I have used Lee Parks gloves for four years now and won't have anything else. Great fit and very comfortable.

The Sena is all that and then some.  I also have the Sena SR-10 that connects my Zumo GPS and my Escort Radar to the Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth headset, as well as push to talk button easily attaches to handgrips for bike to bike comm via Motorola.    The fact that you can make and receive phone calls and stream music over iPhone, you just can not beat it.  People don't believe you when you are on the phone and you tell them you are on your bike.

Now I want to try those gloves.....tired of the black die bleeding on my hands.

My left hand should be safe to shake, or a fist bump would also work nicely.

I cannot wait to touch myself with these awesome gloves,

"Touch yourself"???  Are those X-rated gloves or something?  Or is this an entirely different kind of "glove"?

I have some 20 year old deerskin Thurlow gauntlet 581TL gloves. The gloves are still in great shape but I want to get another pair as a back up but Thurlow closed its doors several years ago.
Going to look into some Lee Parks gloves.

I'm happy with my Scala G9 Powerset.

I have a pair of deerskin gloves from Cabelas that are pretty nice, but made in China and they don't fit me real well. My bud just got a pair of these Lee Parks, I tried them on and was just blown away.

How do the thumbs fit? I have small hands, should really wear medium, but find I have to get XL most of the time because so many manufacturers cut the thumb too short to be comfortable while riding.

I ordered a small in Lee Parks, my buddy has bigger hands than me and the medium was perfect on him.  High quality properly tanned deerskin will stretch to conform to your hands and fingers, hence why going with a bit smaller than normal is best. The measuring guide is pretty spot on, and I have read very few negative reviews on his gloves.

Give the Held Steve Classic a try.  They can be ordered in short, reg, and long finger lengths.  I'm like you with shorter fingers and the 9 short fits me perfect.  Best gloves I've ever had.  I got them from the old new enough site which is now motorcycle gear.com.

Sena came today, I think I am gonna like it.  8)  Helds are also pricey gloves, many say they don't hold up well "Ha ironic" for the price.

I love having the music on the road. I use bluetooth in ear buds from Sennheiser.

Very nice gloves. I use these from L.L Beans. They have lined and unlined.

Those don't look bad at all, especially for the price. No doubt they are made in China or Taiwan though.  :-[

I am looking forward to a bit of music, bought the Sena mostly for communicating with my riding buddy. I tell ya, I am really surprised at how those little speakers sound in the helmet. I put the speaker pad under them to decrease the distance between my ear, it made a huge difference in sound. I was only getting sound out of 1 speaker initially, but found that when I pushed in on the headset the right speaker came on. A little more snugging up on the cradle took care of that, the pins were not making full contact.

I have several pairs of gloves (don't we all) a pair of Kangaroo skin Held gloves, a pair from Olympia, an old custom made deerskin (made in 1974) and a pair of deerskin Lee Parks (DeerSports) at first I thought it was strange that the velcro strap was on the palm side when all previous gloves had it on the back of hand side, but once I got used to it I actually prefer it that way...bottom line the Lee Parks are my first choice when I ride...The insulation is outstanding. A side benefit is that I don't get tingling hands when wearing them (maybe it is all in my head)...I would not hesitate recomending the Lee Parks to anyone, they are worth the price!
