I've been reading about the heat and turbulence issues on the C-10, and the various windshield / vent combinations to address them. Has anyone tried the snap vents like the old Vetter fairings used? Cost is reasonable and installation easy, but would I be better off with a goldwing vent? Here's what I'm talking about.

A more effective solution will likely be a shorter "summer" windshield.
My windshield is vented and while it helps it's really not enough when hot.

I've seen a lot of c10's with them, but I think this is the one you want

Be forewarned that Aircraft Spruce is a dangerous website! Many, many dollars can just disappear from the bank account, with hardly any effort.

Having used the Vetter snap vents back in the day, and the Gold Wing vent on the Connie, the Gold Wing vent is much gooder.

At the risk of sounding like the newbie I am, will the goldwing vent work with the stock shield? I've mostly seen comments about using them with Cee Bailey windshields. For now my budget says to modify what I've got.

I have no idea how it would work on the stock shield. Anything can "be made to fit", however.
