From my notes when I did this. It's the kind of thing you do once, 'cause there's not much grease in there from Ma Kawasaki. Haven't touched it since.
Misty rain today in Ottawa - time to grease the swing arm bearings.
Pretty much followed the manual, made a small press to pull out the swing arm shafts consisting of a circular metal plate about 2" in diameter, a 6 mm bolt 40 mm long and a 6 mm nut.
Back out the 3 retaining bolts about 1/8", turn in the 6 mm bolt until it bottoms, push the plate against the bolt heads. Tighten the 6 mm nut and the shaft pulls out 'til it hits the bolt heads. For the left side, see
http://www.ncf.ca/~ag136/swingArmPress.jpgOnce it's moved a bit, you don't need this press any longer, you can remove the retaining bolts and just pull on the 6 mm bolt. For the right side, you need 3 longer bolts, 8 mm x 45 mm to replace the existing retaining bolts.
