Front tire or bearings?
« on: July 13, 2011, 07:58:32 PM »
At 66Kkm, the front wheel was making a bit of noise in left turns. The front Avon is nearing its end of life and has a bit of cupping. The wheel bearings were replaced at 46Kkm with the $4.98 hardware store kind. So I couldn't really tell whether the noise was tire or bearings.

Popped the wheel off to check, bearings are smooth as the day they were bought. If the bearings were loose or noisy, I'd replace them immediately. The tire can be noisy, I'll put up with it until it wears down completely.

Sure it was the front wheel making noise? Too, it could have been pads. Thats a frugal price on the bearings, but if you are sure then yeah, I'd do the same thing.
