He hasn't been on here since last November. Was wondering what the next iteration of the Connie was going to be.
-
Been wondering the same. He's got to have another color by now ;)
-
I think he left, currently he is on the other forum. I think I know why he left, but it doesn't really matter I guess.
Brian has left the other one and I'm pretty sure I have as well, unless they make some changes over there sometime soon.
We each have to make decisions based on whether a forum is contributing to our lives or detracting from them.
:yikes:....Look!, some guy named fartymarty is getting all serious and philosophical on the internet. :P
OH WAIT! HERE HE IS: http://fartymarty.smugmug.com/Other/COG-National-2014/i-PCWK2B2/0/O/IMG_0493_WHERE_IS_ZG.jpg (http://fartymarty.smugmug.com/Other/COG-National-2014/i-PCWK2B2/0/O/IMG_0493_WHERE_IS_ZG.jpg)
Gumby may have more details he can share.
-
When I first got my bike I visited, or should say signed up, and before I had a chance to look around and decide if it was for me or not, I got a private message asking for money.
Oh well, will just have to imagine what his next color will be.
-
Life is funny. Now what is really funny about this post is that you referenced people leaving 'the other one', and in the near- center, foreground of the very photo you posted a link to is none other than Glenn, the marketing director for 'the other one'. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Yep, personality conflicts. Chet left too (Son of Pappy) when ZG did. Mine was with der fuhrer, et al. (hmmmm, should I capitalize the first letter of fuhrer? I will check in with Miss Manners and get back to everyone on this....).
Hey, there was a best seller by the name of 'You Can't Go Home Again', right?
Marty, want me to have Kirby cheer you up?

Marty, want me to have Kirby cheer you up?
Thanks for offering Kirby's services. ;D  I am disappointed, but I'm not depressed. They may change over there, or they may not, as long as one of my bikes starts and runs I should be able to continue on with a smile. But yeah, I do miss ZG and SOP here. I don't know if anyone there will admit it, but I think you're missed over there as well Brian.

some support both forums. my pet peeve is steering wheels mounted on the wrong side of cars, and neither forum promotes such ;D

This one does. I enjoy the humor and thoughts from that side of the pond. Been a Benny Hill and Monty Python freak for over 4 decades now... tp www.gtr1400.co.uk (http://www.gtr1400.co.uk)

For those that do not know, ZG and Gumby both left for the same silly (IMO) reason. Neither one of them like Max, in fact they both had Max on their ignore list here. When Max was promoted to Admin they left. ZG said that he might come back but Gumby didn't say anything of the sort. I think that Gumby has posted here since though...
Don't get me wrong. I like all three, Gumby, Max, and ZG (notice the alphabetized order ;) ) and I think that they are great guys. Personally I thought that Max was a very good choice for Admin. Gumby and ZG didn't like the choice so they left.
To each their own...
-
I'm sorry to hear that. With any large group of people there are bound to be people you get along with better than others. But for me, life is way too short to worry about it. I don't know any of them personally but have gotten great advice and entertainment from all of them. I wish they would come back. :'(
-
This happens on every kind of forum...I belong to an atv forum and we had the same issue with one person that started to annoy some by preaching what he felt we should all be doing in life. I still visit both forums as there is lots of info.
Brian...you enjoying this cold and snow in RI? I feel like my bike is getting moved further in the garage behind the snow blower. One shocking thing I have seen at work is a yzf600 parked in the garage for the last 2 weeks, I suspect the person had been riding it to work and maybe abandoned that after that "blizzard"
As for ZG..i have loved checking out his assortment of colors and always wondered what would be next.

I don't think he is smiling because of the car he is in.

I still visit both forums, so I didn't even notice that anybody left. ZG put a lot of forum miles on, so it's too bad that he left.
The COG forum has some blatantly arrogant members that I find really annoying.
It's kinda like a cult, except there's half a dozen Reverend Jim Jones...LOL.
I could easily give it up....it's been downright boring since BDF left anyway. :o
This forum is better anyway.

I've used both forums and I have no problem with the other forum but I prefer the Wild West with a strong, sword carrying, sheriff forum. 8)

JT, thanks for sending me the link to this over on COG! :chugbeer:
What's up brutha's n sista's!! All is well with me, yes I still have my ZG and am still finding ways to throw $ at her like she's a dirty stripper working the late night Thursday shift! ;D :P
True, I haven't been on this forum for awhile, I've made a change in how much forum time I spend online and have been really busy with work and life in general. I have no hate or ill will for this forum, it's all good and so are you folks!
:grouphug:
I agree with some of the comments about COG, trust me it ain't perfect, but neither is my family, my workplace, or this this forum. If you can weed through the BS stuff there is still some pretty cool things. Like the rally's for one, for those of you that don't go on the COG forum you should at least go there to get the info for this years National rally, you don't have to be a member to go to the rally's. It's gonna be a blast, great location, great roads, great scenery, good folks, and lots n lots of fun night's for an entire week!!
:chugbeer: :chugbeer:
Take care, be well, and hope to see ya at the National this year! I'll try to stop in over here every now and then to keep you buffoon's in check! ;) ;D
-
Great to hear to hear from you ZG! Glad hear all is well. We miss your "colorful" posts. ;D
-
By some, perhaps. I miss some of them too. Then again, I am easy to find.... I am right here!

Yep, loving it! I like winter anyway, it is spring and the deep part of summer that I could do without. Like if April was connected to September, and the next five months were September again, then right back to October and frost overnight with full- blown winter on the way. Ahhhhhh.

And therein lies the really, really great news: "they" are 'over there' rather than over here, with very few exceptions. And there are not enough of the exceptions to form the pack mentality here so it works out. I mean, if we absolutely have to have schmucks in the world, is it not better that they restrict themselves to one part of that world and avoid the rest of it? And besides, this forum is moderated by decent people who would simply not tolerate what goes on there....

He'll stop smiling when he realizes how small the back seat is in that car. Steering wheel location is a minor factor in the car purchase list. :P

Ya know, sometimes you have to look up....way up, right to the top, to see the problems. It's rarely the people themselves. Heck, even General Motors might have been a different company had they fired Rick Wagoner a half a decade earlier than when they finally forced him out...lol. A colleague of mine from eastern Europe told me one time, "sometimes...you have to cut a vital limb from your body, let it bleed out, then heal up, and carry on with life and become stronger".

Oh, I did that too- I shook the tree until the everything was rattling from the trunk to the tips of the finest branches. The actual problem is that everything is run by committee, regardless of the Executive Director slot, and of course the committees talk about it, agree to meet again later so they can talk about it some more. In the meantime, petty tyrants are in charge of various facets of the larger group and they go along their merry way being, well, petty tyrants with their little cliques. Just like the second grade school yard, unfortunately. And the very worst of the tyrants seem to be leading the forum, where virtually every single new potential member gets to see their garbage.... and they wonder why they cannot increase their membership. If the inmates are not running the asylum, then they are causing enough havoc to cause lots of members to drop out, and preventing potential new members from joining (actually paying dues) and I cannot blame them; why in the world would anyone financially support a train wreck to keep it going?
Of course someone <could> pick up a paddle and start to steer the canoe but so far, that has not happened.
All of that said, the great majority of the people in that organization are great. And my local area is fantastic. Just like the Soviet Union, there is nothing wrong with the vast population, merely a very few [miss] 'leaders' all up and down the party line.
Brian

I got a t-shirt from my sister 34 years ago, that says, "It's hard to soar with eagles, when you have to deal with so many turkeys". No longer fit into that shirt, but it helps me stay focused on the fact that our lives can be affected by others in a way we don't need or desire, but have to deal with daily. I've been here almost a year now, and it is my favorite landing spot on the web. Joined COG, but for some unexplained reason, I seldomly ever go to the site. I have enjoyed being with everyone on this site, and hope to never depart.
OK, I'm ready for any bashing, now....tomp

All good TWA! :chugbeer:
Hmmm... Well I did do a couple things since I last checked in here that I have some pics of. ;)
I did some basic brake caliper and additional lighting upgrades around Christmas time, and just the other week upgraded my Zumo 660 to the new Zumo 590 that comes equipped with Pandora amongst a bunch of other cool features. :)
2015 Connie tinted front brake and clutch reservoirs, 2015 ZX14R Anniversary Model front and rear gold calipers, and PIAA 1100 LED lights using the PCA mounts...

Wow, & here I thought I was the only one that had those same thoughts about the "controllers" over on the "official" site! PM me if you want to know about a phone conversation regarding a certain national rally that turned me sour against the bunch.
Even though they say it's water-under-the-bridge, there's still a lot of bad feelings from the 2 forums turmoil from a few years back & IMO, it STILL CONTROLS THEIR ACTIONS!!! :(

Compared to Ohlin's suspension, Anniversary edition ZX14 calipers, high quality paint job, the brake and clutch reservoirs are pretty inexpensive. ???

Ahhh, Zg's 'Theory of Relativity'. :)

Just for fun, I looked those up. Not counting ebay finds it looks like it would run around $150.00 or more with shipping etc. No I didn't spend hours on the research, so yeah it could be cheaper. What I did find surprised me in that almost everywhere I checked the 2015 brake reservoir was approx. double the cost of the 2015 clutch reservoir. Then I checked prices for older models and the reservoirs were identical in price. Wassup wit dat? ???
-
Jay confirmed that price difference when he got them. He couldn't find out why either.

Then I checked prices for older models and the reservoirs were identical in price. Wassup wit dat? ???
One is on the right and one is on the left of course. You wouldn't expect them to be the same for 2015 would ya? ;)

Didn't you know? Making them a different color saves tons and tons of money!!! That white plastic is just so expensive!
OK, you've lost me max'. I know you were being amusing, but (going by your editing) I think you missed my point?
Oh well, not to worry, here you go..

I liked that part :)

Compared to Ohlin's suspension, Anniversary edition ZX14 calipers, high quality paint job, the brake and clutch reservoirs are pretty inexpensive. ???
Ahhh, Zg's 'Theory of Relativity'. :)
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
right... define "pretty inexpensive" :o ;D
My cost was only about $100 for the set, which to me was well worth getting rid of those ugly white ones. :) :chugbeer:

So Jay,
Did you even ride this past week with all the great weather we're having?? ::) ::) ::)

I got a new rear trunk, one of those big massive Corbin 70 liter one's, man o man is this thing massive!! :o
I'm looking forward to having it for my trip to the Nat in June, and mama is loving the comfort it provides with the big backrest and armrests, win win!!
A very big special thanks to Phil (aka Phil's Rack), he made me a super sano custom setup rails/sliders combo that lines the trunk up with the lines of the side cases and also allows me to slide it back or forward for when I'm running my Corbin smuggler trunk or mama's Corbin back seat...
It's awesome, thanks Phil, you're the best!! :chugbeer:
Here's some pics... I had it paint matched to my current bodywork, also had them do the bottom in a textured matte black to match the side cases, I like how it turned out. :)

Super massive is right J! :o
Does this case make my ass look too big? Um, yes! ;)
-
That trunk will hold two pony kegs and a package of red Solo cups.
-
Is it still limited to 22 lbs like my GIVI? Might need to put some wheelie bars on the bike, or stretch the swingarm if you put much weight in there.
-
T. Rex would be very happy with those armrests. :)
-
Nice looking bike indeed

Indeed GP & C, indeed! ;D :chugbeer:

T. Rex would be very happy with those armrests. :)
Surprisingly they are actually quite comfy, they're more for your elbows or the inside part of the arms and your arms just kinda rest in front, tough to explain in words, maybe I'll try to get mama to put on her bikini and sit on it so I can illustrate better with a pic... ;) :P
-

I wouldn't suggest putting too much weight in it, I'll just use it for bulky lighter things like clothes etc on a trip, and keep my heavier items in the side cases. I know there are warnings and weight limits etc, but in 5 years of owning this bike and being on many forums I've yet to see any posts/reports of somebody cracking or breaking the passenger grab rails due to an over loaded trunk... :-\

Alex- Did you move to NJ and get a new bike? Maybe see you at Americade? You know where I am.

yeah, but nobody was silly enough, or had enough $$ to buy that bigazztrunk., 8) 8)
just kidding...
well, it is a bigazzed trunk... dude.... really?
do the trailer thing like I did... and you can color match it to look cool.... twice as much paint, and no overhanging doppleganger...
-

LOL, true.
Jays pic reminds me of a C14 owner we met while on a trip back in 2011. We rolled into Winthrop, WA on two 08 C14's, and there was a guy there also on an 08 C14, and he had one of those 30" suitcases mounted on the back...handle on one end, wheels on the other...LOL. That thing looked so big and out of place on there...it was kinda funny.

Nah, I'd rather not pull a trailer, pulling a trailer with a bike seems like it would be kinda sketch at triple digit speeds or in tight twisties, I'd rather just have a big trunk as I only use it 3 or 4 times a year when bringing extra stuff. :-\
-
I think I see a little room for it to be just a skosh bigger:

Now THAT'S a trunk! I think that you could even stash a body in that thing! Provided that the body was prepared properly first of course... ;)
-
It's really out there isn't it?
-
I wonder if Corbin tests the safety in a good cross-wind. Handling must be affected even under benign conditions?
-
I'd be scared to put much in it as it might lighten the front end somewhat. It's bad enough with a loaded case in the normal position.

while I didn't do two up when I went to the J.C. National last summer, I did travel at tripple digits a few times, and also ran the Scenic Byway on the way home for about 50 miles, due to a major traffic jamup where I decided it would be more fun to ride twisties with the trailer, more than walk my bike along a freeway....
it handled perfect, and truthfully at times provided very controlled off throttle deceleration in a stable manner, when coming into turns hot..
-

Keep your right foot hovered over the rear brake pedal ready to apply liberally during surprise wheelies. That'll solve straight ahead wheelies anyway. You're on your own in curves :o
-
Probably should attach a dolly wheel to the underside of that case, just in case..

Didn't you already have plastic painted green?
I sold the green set I did before (everything except the lowers), this time for green is just side case lids, tail sides n center, and reshooting the lowers for perfect match, but yes C it's the same color green as that other set I had. :)

Enough with the suspense! Which color did you get squirted on your giant new top case??
That is one wild lookin' scheme! You're probably only ever gonna pass 3 or 4 other bikes with that same scheme :P
Wait! Is this a political statement? ... something about the ol' Green, White & Blue. Hmm, I can't think of any topics to connect it ???
Anyway, the all-red was my fave, but fantastic that you're willing to try so many schemes
-
I knew the Techspec would tie it together with the black badges as well. :) :chugbeer:
That is the part I would have screwed up (well, perhaps the most obvious part I would have screwed up), the badges, I would have done them in blue like the fins and I would have regretted it as soon as I stood back and took a big picture look at it. Well done ZG.
Enough with the suspense! Which color did you get squirted on your giant new top case??
Good question!
I look at the side view and try to imagine ZG sitting on the bike...and....I think he is going to need a blue helmet to complete the paint scheme. Yes? No? :-\
-
Is it just the perspective that makes the front badge look like Kawasakl ?
-
Can't say I'm real giggly about that color combination. White and blue..yes. All green....yes. Mixture of both, not so much.

The Corbin large trunk is blue, as well as a complete solid blue set. :)

No worries Sparky, the good thing about this set is I can change things around a lot for different combo's, blue/white/green, blue/white/blue, blue/white red, and solid blue. :) :chugbeer:

Possible tweak (blue on top of tank; larger Kawi emblem):
The reason I didn't do the top of the tank blue CSK is my painter only gets all the parts, not the bike nor them mounted on the bike, so being able to have the lines all line up 100% perfect would be quite challenging and could look really bad if even off by a quarter inch or the angle be wrong. Doing the line on the blue section at the top of the inner mids to match up with the upper line and angling it up to the black plastic top covers on those mids was relatively easy to measure and came out perfect, you'd probably have to see it in person though to understand what I'm trying to say... :-\
As for doing bigger Kawi badges, nah, I like using the oem badges, which still makes it look like it could be an actual oem color to folks that might not know any better... ;) ;D :chugbeer:

Nice!

The dot of the "i" is attached and the lowered section between the top of the "i" and the dot doesn't show up quite so much in other color combos, but with the contrast between white and black being so high it does look like a "l" instead of "i". Perhaps just a dab of white out correction fluid in the lowered section would be in order just for photos? Staging is everything, so they say.

Out in the sun this blue just freakin POPS! Pics don't do it justice...
I like it
-
Hmmm, can I see it with the white smuggler on there? (I'm sure you have one right?) ;D
Actually, I think I agree with you. If the smuggler were white, it would make the white "stripe" through the bike complete and might look even better!

Jay, I liked the silver, the black, the green, the red, but this one looks like something Johnny Cash would write about:

I had some white left over, so I am having another front fender sprayed in white, but I didn't want to do the smuggler trunk in white for 2 reasons, I'd have to buy another smuggler trunk and the large rear Corbin trunk is blue, so when the large trunk is mounted as well the color will flow better.

Nah, it's not a $ thing FM, I've been running these badges on all the sets so far, they are the oem ones. I don't think they look bad, I think it's just the shadow in that one pic that you're referring to, plus it would be very hard to find a white that matches the white of the bodywork exactly, and would look cheap IMO if not a 100% perfect match... :-\
-

It's not that important, but just to be clear. (aka :deadhorse:)
Understanding that it looks very good in person (I saw it on the red version up close in Cortez)
I was just referring to using it temporarily at studio time (photo shoots) so that the dot stands out. I don't think the color match would be that important on such a small area in a photo, but just enough to tell it's an "i" and not a "l". Definitely remove the white out/Plasti dip/white tape after the photo shoot is done, because you are correct it would look cheap. As new folks come into the fold that aren't familiar with your work, they are going to see the photos and ask what's a Kawasak"l". I'm just trying to save you the repetitive headache. :banghead:
I will say no more about the "i", as I think I've thoroughly killed that horse. It was gPink that led the poor animal into the killing field. ;D

You see, Jay's bank called one day and said his account was at its limit. He needed to free up some space immediately. He quickly came up with a plan to turn cash into envy, and proceeded with his plan. That worked for about six months, then the bank called again, and again, and again. I'm guessing unless he gets serious about this problem, this repaint thing will continue for years.

Jay,
1. I notice that your garage does not seem to have a GixR in it anymore, is it gone or just buried under all those boxes?
2. In all these color combos over the years, are you buying new TechSpecs each time..or do they really transfer that easily from tank to tank?
Looking forward to the all blue version, but don't hurry on my account, enjoy whatcha got now for a while.

I sold the Gixxer last year, just wasn't riding it as much with having the ZG...

I like the white, it flows well with the white mid-fairing and when you drop on the green wheels, I think it'll all tie together very well.
-
Can't say I'm real giggly about that color combination. White and blue..yes. All green....yes. Mixture of both, not so much.
I would have to agree. This guy has done some of the coolest things Ive seen done.....this one I am not not feeling. Too busy for this old mans taste I guess.
-
I like the blue fender with the blue upper and rim.
Would have to see the white fender with the green rim if that's what you were planning.

The green wheels and another fresh set of PR4GT's installed today! :chugbeer:
I burned through the last set of PR4GT's just since June (approx 8k), which is pretty good for me, nice summer of riding, good times! :)
The sun really makes the gold flake in the green wheels pop, even more so than these pics show. 8)

I'd have been happy with just the blue and white colors. Perhaps a darker shade of the same blue where you now have the green paint.

Dry summer indeed here in the PNW this year C, that's not our house though, the sun was already starting to go down and my driveway was shaded, had to go down around the corner to get some shots in the full sun to get the gold glitter on the wheels to pop in the pics! ;) ;D

Nope, sorry, not finished yet. Apologies for not making it clear that I had other plans for your bike ZG. Hopefully I can clear that up right now.
(tongue in cheek emoticon would go here, but then there is that roving SHARP lady from the other thread (http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=20274.msg250811#msg250811) and frankly the tongue in cheek emoticon looks like something else entirely if you know what I mean (http://cdn.elmostacho.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/tumblr_n13sbncJdK1qljj91o7_400.gif))
Here is the overall color theme I've envisioned for your bike ZG: (https://fartymarty.smugmug.com/photos/i-GkXj9Wr/0/L/i-GkXj9Wr-L.gif)
So, as you can clearly see, you need to paint the front wheel and the smuggler both white, and then mount the large blue Corbin top case. Now here comes the hard part. You need to paint your helmet a matching blue and have an assistant take your picture on the bike. Then* you'll be finished. ;D
* yeah, right. like that will ever happen.

I like it, and better than the blue. Although to be complete it would need a white front wheel too :)

Only half of the front wheel in white. The other half, leave green.

If I recall correctly, Festivus starts out with the "airing of grievences", and is later followed by the "feats of strength" which is pretty much what happened on that thread, except there was only one feat of strength (the sword) ;).
-
So let me get this straight. ZG... The master of C14 customization sold his C14 for a KTM thingy? Wow.... That's depressing. HA! As others have said where will we get our inspiration from???? I can't even benefit from any left over farkle sales as I have a Gen 2. Oh well... When you start your customized magic on that KTM what ever it is you better be back to post some pics! We need inspiration! Best of luck ZG.

So yeah, exactly where did he go? I know he went over to the orange side of the force, but it doesn't seem like he sticks to any one color very long. I've checked on various KTM forums and even with an assumed name change I can't find him.
Gumby?..got an update for us??...or give Jay a poke and ask him to stop in and give us an update.

I think I have his cell number if you really need to reach him.

If he stays true to form, he will be the poster with the handle KT? :)
-
I think I have his cell number if you really need to reach him.
No, I'm just curious what's up with him. After so many posts on both forums, his departure left sort of a vacuum that is only emphasized by the reduced posting by Brian. Of course building a second floor on ones house would sort of bring the post rate down a bit.
Thanks though.

I should look into that. :)

He's back in action on the COG forum,
The Orange bike is now for sale...... he traded it in, and the dealership has a hefty pricetag on it...

New GoldWing in garage... and its a beaut....

That was quick. Wonder what he didn't like about the Duke. Was hoping to see it is different colors. But maybe now we get to see a wing change colors.

What the hell? Where's the altimeter and wind speed indicator?
That's all automatically incorporated into the avionics GPS system, although a backup analog display gauge would be advised.

Do you have to be instrument rated to ride that thing? I'm only VRR rated.
-
What the hell? Where's the altimeter .....?
Somewhere I think he did a post where he ran it all down switch by switch. IIRC, I thought there were a lot of unnecessary switches to turn stuff off that went off anyway when the the bike was powered down. edit I do think there was actually a stand alone altimeter (that wasn't incorporated in one of the GPS units). What I really liked was the FLIR unit. I just know Jay will find a way to get one. :D
edit: found it----> Part 1. http://gl1800riders.com/forums/2100371-post85.html (http://gl1800riders.com/forums/2100371-post85.html)

I'm pretty sure it's true, as I recognize his garage in the photo, and just in case you think it's a friend of Jay's temporarily parked in his garage, there is this: http://forum.cog-online.org/index.php?topic=67128.0 (http://forum.cog-online.org/index.php?topic=67128.0)

No, its true.... I wouldn't lie about that, he's a pal...
And it was on the COG site, which he returned to and made some posts, also there is a link to the dealer he traded his KoolAid bike to, where it sits now for sale....
I think the major reason was he has come to the point where he wants his wife to ride with him more, and pretty much its a great reason...

Wanting your wife to ride with one is understandable. I love having my wife ride with me but she cramps my style. When she rides if I don't stay within the speed limit I 'hear' about it over the intercom or from the back of my helmet. :o

I never hear complaints about speed or lean angles since I take the slower/lower v-twin cruiser when my wife wants to ride with me. Her Majesty refuses to undergo the acrobat training needed to mount the C14 pillion. ;D
-
My wife doesn't ride. I still don't know if that's a good thing or bad. But if she did ride, I would prefer she rode her own bike and would be happy to buy her one. I've got to say that no way in hell would I spend days or even hours on the back of a bike. That wouldn't be fun and would be very uncomfortable. So I think she would be much happier with her own ride then on the back of mine.

My wife and I agree with you. She has her own bike.

so, now, when you both ride, you have to spend extra time and care, watching her in your rear view mirror, wondering and worrying about her, not to mention maintaining 2 bikes, and 2 insurance policies.. and all for what?
let alone having to ride at a muchly reducd speed, and stopping often, Just to look at something you never would have stopped for...
nope, never gonna happen in my life,
I'll buy a Goldwing, and sit my wife back there with a Mocha Java, and a good book on her tablet, and roll.. she always wants those arm rests..
doing it like that reduces owning a bike, for your enjoyment, to owning a bike, and owning another big pain, just so you can ride...
simplify it.
oh, and I'll never have an intercom system on-board... I don't want to hear anything close to a complaint...
hell, a kidney punch every once and a while is my limits on communication.. 8)

+1.... Had to learn the hard way myself.... Got one of those, and fitted it to the lids. When the Mrs opened her mouth, it was like she was talking inside my head, in stereo....
I got rid of that faster than you can say "Bluetooth".....

Naw, like I said, she doesn't ride. But if she did, I would want her to RIDE! If you really want her to be comfy, sit her in a captains chair with arm rests, Mocha Java, reading tablet in a luxury cage where she doesn't get her hair mussed. I swear that is her number one reason for not riding is the hair getting mussed. (word of the day "mussed")

We're probably going to get switched to a new thread since it's gone off topic big time, but this is more interesting than musing on the whereabouts of, what's his name again? Anyway, my wife loves to ride pillion. Complains when I don't go through the corners fast enough or accelerate hard enough from the stops. She doesn't talk much so when I installed an intercom system, the main problem has been wondering if it's on or not. Going on our first big ride the week after labor day. I've committed to stopping often and not worrying about the daily mileage count. Whether it's 150 or 600, doesn't matter.
-
You have a keeper, Cold Streak!
-
I used to ride in Colorado with a FJR buddy. Got into the canyon going up to Grand Mesa. I was solo on my C14 and he and his wife two up on the FJR. I had difficulty keeping up. Obviously he was the better rider but the point is he would get kidney punches telling him to go faster. A unicorn I say.

Yep, I agree. A unicorn or from another planet.

Looking for something else entirely, I tripped over this old post from 6 Feb., 2015, and in the post, 1jeep asks me if I am enjoying the snow.
Now what is ironical about this is that I happen to bump into it today, 21 July, 2017.... and the really ironical part is that I am waiting for quotes to come in for insulating the second floor outside walls. The link goes like this: in 2015, we had a very heavy annual snowfall combined with unusually cold temps, both of which caused a large build up of snow on the buildings around here. While I was answering that post from 1jeep about enjoying all the snow, I did not yet realize that it was structurally destroying the roof on my house. Found out in the spring of that year and eventually, it resulted in the removal of the entire second floor of the house and a re-build; that is what I am waiting for today regarding the insulation for the new walls.
So the longer answer to the question about me enjoying the snowfall in 2015 is..... yep, and still enjoying the results today and there is no end in sight. Truly the gift that keeps on giving. ;D
Brian
And I am still enjoying my spell checker not tripping on the word 'ironical', which while it certainly may be spelled correctly, is not a word at all. :rotflmao:
-
Sometimes when a word is so not a word at all, it slips by the spell checker ... i.e. you've blown the spell checker's mind.
