Title: Picking up my 2011 from Cherry Hill
Post by: Caffeinated on June 30, 2011, 03:58:36 PM
WoooooHoooo, I finally bit the bullet and plunked down for a NEW bike.  They are having their 4th of July sale so it was even cheaper than normal.

Hoping I can get up there on Saturday, and can't decide if I want to drive or take the Megabus.

Oh yea, it's the silver one.

My 02 will be going up for sale very soon if anyone is interested.

Congratulations, Is that Cycle World in Cherry Hill?! They have great pricing. Wish I had brought mine from them.  I had to haggle with my dealer to get $1K off. I'm in Central NJ - Hamilton, and i ride to work in Philly. maybe we can hook up for a ride sometime. PM me. There are a lot of us in NJ and there's some good riding around the New Hope, PA area.

Conrgats! That's who I bought my bike from. Nobody can come close to their pricing in this area.
Not to mention great people to work with!

I bought mine from there as well.  They were great to work with and their price was unbeatable locally.  I drove my truck and trailer up there and trailered the bike home.   Congrats on the new wheels!

Traded my Streetglide in at Cherry Hill for my 09 C-14.  Great doing business with this crew and I trust their service department.
Congratulations on the new bike.

The assimilation is complete. Congrats on the new C14! Got a good price there also.

I was just there this afternoon looking to buy a new pair of gloves. No Olympias though.

Thanks all. Yep Cycle World.  I tried to get my local dealers to price match and they just could not make it work. This was at least a $1000 cheaper.

Ridersville Cycle in Berkeley Springs, WV had better pricing before Cycle World dropped their price for the 4th, but they were out of the Silver. When I called Cycle World, they had just sold their last silver 20 minutes earlier, but the sales guy said he would see if he could steal one from the local dealers. He called back in a half hour and we were good to go.

Oh, one of my local dealers indicated I should buy now because there is rumors among the sales managers that there will be no more incentives for the rest of the year since the inventory is low, and the 2012's would be delayed due to the earthquake in Japan.  Any truth to that?

If you're planning on riding back I would reconsider. Cherry Hill won't give you a temp tag like VA does. I think it was a transfer tag. I rode on mine, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't legal. Oh and don't forget toll money. ;D

Yea, the 3-axle charge at the JFK bridge is $15 >:( so I'm going to see if my neighbor's pickup is available and avoid the trailer.

I flew up and they had the bike ready to ride in the parking lot, paperwork ready to be signed, and gave me a NJ temp tag that I paid either 15 or 25 bux for. I brought FL insurace. Worked great!

If you are a VA resident you can go to dmvnow.com and pay 5.00 for a trip ticket which will allow you to ride back from the purchase location to your end destination.  It can all be done online and is painless.

Now that's a MV agency that's got their chit together

$12,793 OTD cash. Add another $225 if you buy with a loan (which I did) so they do title and reg + tax. Cash allows you to register and pay tax where ever you want without the additional fee. My out the door with tax and reg is $13,398.

02's is in pieces as I am replacing the valve cover gasket and doing a carb sync.

I was wondering about those trip permits outside of VA, if the other states would honor it if pulled over.

I simply picked up a temp tag from the dealer in Cherry Hill and rode it to FL.  More drama in this thread than the tag was  ;D

That's a great price! I was basically $15, 500 OTD after my dealer lowered the sticker price to $14, 299, and I paid cash no loan. Then I saw Cherry Hill and was like WTF?!  :o I could have done much better; but I'm Ok with what I paid, and I love the bike.

That is a good price if it's an 2011, the dealer five miles from me, is asking $16,000 & tax

Question, whats the recommended break-in?  I really don't want to be going 55 on i95 to keep the RPMs down...I'll get run over.

What speed and RPMs?

Typically in town riding with up and down rpm's is better than a constant like highway.

Others will disagree though I'm sure and even say break-in is not necessary... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/smiley_dunno.gif)

What speed and RPMs?

From the owners manual:
• The table shows maximum recommended engine speed during the break-in period.
Distance traveled Maximum engine speed
0 ∼ 800 km (0 ∼ 500 miles) 4 000 r/min (rpm)
800 ∼ 1 600 km (500 ∼ 1 000 miles) 6 000 r/min (rpm)

I think 4000 rpm in OD is somewhere between 80 and 90 mph

Well, took the Amtrak up to Philly, cabbed it over to Cycle World (they payed the cab fare) and rode 185 miles back to VA on Saturday.

Here are some pics of the new faster silver  ;D next to the old, slower and duller silver.

Great looking bike.  I love the "I hide dust so well" Grey!  Looks like you got a pretty good deal and Cherry Hill took care of you by even paying your cab fare.  Enjoy!

Good luck with the new bike.
I was thinking of coming down to Cherry Hill, but got kidnapped by some friends for breakfast and a ride along the Delaware River. I try to stay out of dealerships as much as possible, I'm way to fond of shiny things :)
