So I've been using a Scorpion EXO 700 that I bought NIB for $100. Fits well, comfortable, no issues but I would really like to remove the kid-racer graphics and be left with a solid color. Anyone have any experience removing the decals? Are they under clearcoat? Do I have to live with 'em until I buy a new helmet, which could be a while? Thanks

You would have to look at it good, but surface mount graphics remove pretty easy. Get the whole area good and hot with a hair dryer, pick an edge to lift, keep the heat on it and pull slowly. I "de sticker" everything I have. Good Luck

What he said. Feel it with a fingernail. If you feel an edge, it can be removed. But most good helmets have the decals/graphics under a clear coat and can't be removed.

Many times the decals are painted over by the clearcoat. if thats the case leave it alone.
If its not the case, heat gun followed by fingernail and they'll come right off. Any residue i've found a light swipe with goo-gone gets it off without damaging paint. Be sure all the goo-gone is off with a damp rag.

Yep, I'm pretty sure it has a clear coat over it. I guess I'm stuck with scorpions on my helmet. :yikes:
But on the brighter side, I've got scorpions on my helmet!
Thanks

Paint it.

Yeah? Have done tons of woodworking, never any type of bodywork. What would be the basic steps?
scuff sand
clean
mask
paint?
Could it really be that easy?

Latex...
