About 10 years ago, I decided to use an 80/100W bulb. The wisdom of the forum was to replace the stock connector with a ceramic version, and I bought a NAPA ceramic connector.
Unfortunately around that time, a connector in the crummy Mazda Protege melted, so I used the ceramic connector as a replacement. The stock Concours connector seemed to handle the extra current fine, so it stayed.
Well this year on a trip, low beam burned out, and when I tried to replace the bulb, the silly connector was melted and sort of crumbled in my hand.
So again bought a NAPA high-temperature connector, and this time it will get installed.
