Fuel Tank Prop |
Maybe everyone already figured this one out, but here is what I've done to prop the fuel tank up while connecting / disconnecting the fuel hoses and the gas guage wire, and while synchronizing the carbs. It is just the right size to allow space for working under the tank, but short enough for the hoses and wire to be connected.
The prop is a 2" by 4 3/4" spacer that came with a bicycle rack so it could be used in either a 1 1/4" or a 2" receiver hitch. Its rubbery consistency and sharp edges keep it from moving around when used as a prop.
