Kickstand Foot

Here's a solution to prevent the side stand from sinking into soft ground, a problem all of us have had at one time or another. As can be seen from the photos, the extra kickstand foot has sunk into the mud but the bike is still safely upright.

The solution is simple and inexpensive. Just obtain a toilet seat from Home Depot or the local dump and attach it the kickstand with an industrial strength adhesive.

The only drawback is the difficulty in raising the kickstand enough to close the switch so that the engine can be started. Perhaps if a Dremel tool was used to cut out a muffler-shaped notch in the kickstand foot, all would be well.
